We will be having back with us this year, the Eisner and Harvey Award-winning cartoonist behind Fred the Clown, Thor, Snarked!, the Muppets and the creator of our NCC 2017 poster. Please welcome back the incredibly talented Mr Roger Langridge!!

What have you been up to since last October?

I’ve started work on a new long-form comic about the world’s worst poet, William McGonagall, which is currently being serialised online at ZCO.MX, and I’ve drawn a short comic, “Cosmic Bowl”, for something called Flop House Comics, written by Daily Show writer Dan McCoy, to raise funds for the American Civil Liberties Union. That’s available as a digital download from the Flop House Podcast website.

What have you got coming up this year?

Difficult to predict at this writing. I’ve got various things on editors’ desks, doing the rounds, and I have no idea which, if any, will get the go-ahead first. One thing that’s confirmed is another Flop House Comics short, which I’ll be working on in April. The only other project I’m certain of right now is a new, expanded edition of my Fred the Clown graphic novel, The Iron Duchess, which Fantagraphics are going to be publishing. I’m currently working on some new pages for that.

What will you have for us in October?

I’m considering doing something self-published – possibly a new edition of Zoot!, the comic my brother Andrew and I produced together in the ‘90s – but I won’t know for certain until a bit closer to the date. It all depends on how other projects shake down, which is in the lap of the gods at this writing. One way or another, though, there should be something new on the table.

Be sure to visit Roger in October and pick up his books, you won’t regret it!!!!

Have you entered our competition yet? Still time…
