We have another fantastic guest for you. He’s had a great career working with the likes of the Beano, Viz and Marvel. He’ll be running a special Masterclass for the young uns – please welcome Kev F Sutherland.

How did you get into comics?
I got some stuff in 2000AD when I was still at school (a couple of Future Shocks, an illustration of Ro Jaws and Hammerstein in an annual, and a Captain Klep script). Then after art college I sent stuff every week to 2000AD and/or Oink! comic. Each kept saying I was better suited to the other. Eventually, after a year, Oink! bit and I started getting work in there regularly. 18 months later they’d gone t*ts up and I was back to square one!

You’ve drawn some of the most iconic Beano characters, how did that come about?
After I’d moved from Oink to the sub-Viz humour comics, and they’d all gone tits up, I got to work for Marvel. When they went t*ts up (or filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and shrank to a third of their size, so it was last-in first-out), I then started running the Comic Festival, starting with Comics 99 in Bristol. In 2004, when that all went t*ts up losing me loads of money, I was lucky enough to have met the guys from The Beano at my events, and they liked my work. History was made.

What are you currently working on?
I’m currently writing and drawing my own humorous adaptations of Bible stories, to be published by Bible Society. I know. Stay tuned for organised religion going t*ts up in the next 18 months.

What will you have for us in October?
My Bible stories hopefully – I’ve done The Book Of Esther, Book Of Ruth, and the stories of Rahab and Jael Wife Of Heber. Trust me, much funnier than they sound.

We’re also pleased to announce that Kev has agreed to do one of his 30 minute Comic Art Masterclass on the day!!!
